Barn History

For four generations and more than 60 years, the Lovells and our highly trained staff have trained horses – and we’ve trained horse lovers to care for and ride these exquisite animals. We specialize in training and showing a rare and incredibly beautiful breed of horse called The American Saddlebred. We also teach lessons to beginning riders on horses of all types. At Cash Lovell Stables, we teach a traditional type of English riding called Saddle Seat. It is the basis of all riding styles.

We’re proud of our reputation for producing excellent riders. And we’ve worked hard to earn it. Many of our riders compete in horse shows. Some do so at the national and international level. Cash Lovell riders have won numerous World Championship titles. But many of our riders do not care to show. They are learning to ride for the thrill and pleasure of becoming a partner with a horse. Both types of riders are welcome at Cash Lovell Stables, where we strive hard to provide a wholesome, family-oriented environment.

Our motto is “Horses Raise Great Kids.” We live that motto, and we see the proof of it, every day. Our youngest riders are three years old. Our oldest riders are in their 70s and 80s – many of whom have loved horses all of their lives. In 2002, Cash Lovell Stables & Riding Academy was named the Barn of the Year by the American Saddlebred Horse Association of the Carolinas. That same year, our youth club, Lovell’s Little Bits, won a prestigious national award by being named Youth Club of the Year by the American Saddlebred Horse Association. In 2003, our youth club received other national honors from the same organization.

We offer riding lessons for beginner to advanced riders, a full-service horse training and show facility, summer and winter horse camps and birthday parties.

Please stop in for a visit. We would love to meet you. The horses are waiting!
