It's All about Horsemanship
At Cash Lovell Stables & Riding Academy, we stress to young horse lovers that there is much more to horsemanship than riding. Through our Little Bits program, kids study horses in a fun atmosphere. They'll learn about:
- tacking up a horse
- caring and feeding for horses
- horse equipment
- anatomy of a horse
Our monthly meeting are open to all of our riders and parents have a night off. We host barn scavenger hunts, fun races and learn about barn safety -- our top priority. Some of our meetings have had up to 50 children. And we've had a blast!
Cash Lovell Stables and Make-A-Wish Join Forces!
A big part of our mission at CLS is to channel our riders passion for horses into making a difference in our community and our world. Our motto is "Horses Raise Great Kids." And we see proof of this every day.
As parents, we also want to help our children understand how blessed they are and to share those blessings with others. With the help of Kim Stewart, the CLS Team has decided to take on
a huge project for the second half of 2010. With our CLS family's help, we want
our children to grant the wish of Make-A-Wish child. The average cost of
granting a child's wish is $6,000. So that's our fundraising goal.
It could be
taking a trip to NASA. Or attending the Super Bowl. Or enjoying front row seats
at the World's Championship Horse Show!
Every dime
that we raise through our CLS summer and fall fundraisers (including the Fall
Fun Show), will go into our special Make-A-Wish Fund. We're asking that
you and your children help us.
Money Donated to Charity Each Year
Each year, the Little Bits raises a large sum of money for horse-related charities. The Little Bits volunteer for several charitable horse-related organizations and give their time. They are regular donors to the N.C. Equine Rescue League and Riverwood Therapeutic Riding School. The Little Bits have received national honors for their hard work with horses and horse-related causes. In 2002 and 2004, the American Saddlebred Horse Association named Lovell’s Little Bits the Best Youth Club in the country. In 2003, the same organization recognized the Little Bits for their extraordinary efforts in promoting horseback riding as a sport. And in more recent years, the group has been recognized as the top youth club in the country for its fundraising work.
Barn Helpers
Many of our Little Bits also work as barn helpers in the afternoons and during their school holidays and summers. Barn helpers can earn rewards to use towards riding lessons.
